Project 1
I've really been having trouble nailing down what I want to do with Project 1, but I'm pretty sure I want it to involve documenting how gamers interface with the game. The more I think about this subject, the more I think about the translation of the analog to the digital. Additionally, I have been playing a lot of pinball lately. I have found that pinball adds a new wrinkle to the analog to digital transition. In most modern pinball you have an analog board with analog controls, but the points system and rules are written digitally. So you introduce an analog input, it is translated digitally, and the game itself then answers in the analog. This loop has me fascinated. I think that pinball provides an interesting avenue of exploration in gaming and gaming interface and I feel like documenting pinball would be a good subject for project 1. Any thoughts would help.

could you take an analog machine with a digital input? what would it take to rig the bumpers to responde to the triggers on a controller? or vice versa? it may be hard im not sure but it may help spark an idea.
