Maybe this is just a gimmick. Maybe it's the future. I hate how all my friends have 360s and PS3s and I can't join them, so the prospect of still being able to enjoy the game with them on my PC or iPad is pretty great.

Gface Open Beta
Today, a friend sent me a link to a service called Gface. As a glance, it seems like a version of Steam or Origin in its infancy, maybe even Gamefly. But something that caught my eye was the idea that a game could be played by multiple people across different platforms with different interfaces while still contained within the same experience. I don't know if I worded that where it makes sense, but this is the image from the site that I'm struggling for words to explain:
