what we're really doing with our time

I want to distill the video game experience down to the most abstract level. We're really  just click, click, clicking away the hours of our lives. But what does that mean? What are we really doing? Pushing a button, getting a banana? Earning metered worthless accomplishments? Reinforcing social stereotypes?
